When I was in college, I found this poem
in a poetry book and fell in love with it.
I love its message about the depths of love
and how risky it can be, but had no one to
share it with, yet. On our first Valentine's
day together, I made Matt a framed collage
of pictures from our engagement, a passage of
scripture we both loved, and this poem. Share
it with someone you love, and if that person
isn't in your life yet, hold on to it for later!
HE WISHES FOR THE CLOTHS OF HEAVEN
by William Butler Yeats
HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

hello, lovely:
i just found your blog. don't remember how...it was 10 whole minutes ago! but i have. i like your meanderings and scribbles. maybe that's what you should call your blog? did anyone ever win your contest? anyway, i was just checking in to see if you'd put any pictures of the belly on there. nope. i'll continue to think of your pregnancy as theoretical until i get visual proof. maybe in person? love you!
